Unbeknownst to me at the time I created this, apparently sperm don’t have a grand race to seek out the egg. Rather, they are finicky, evasive little things that try to swim away from hard walls (an evolutionary design that ensured that sperm wouldn’t swim straight into the walls of the vagina). The egg, surrounded by a sticky orb, entraps the sperm that get near it. Once inside this orb, the sperm feel compressed and are subsequently pushed towards the egg. This causes the sperm to feel as though they are evading the hard surface of the egg, when in actuality the egg is tricking them into penetrating it. So does this mean that life is all a trick? Yea, kinda.
