A truly brilliant website that cleverly edits cheesy videos, infomercials, and advertisements of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.  It tickles to imagine how cheesy our videos today will seem 30-40 years down the road.

When we look at advertising, the basic principles seem to have lasted over the years, it’s just the ad content itself (cleverer campaigns, cinematographic improvements, etc.) that has become flashier.  We still consistently see or hear that our baseball game is brought to us in part by Coca-Cola, just as was done decades ago.  Will the future of advertising continue to utilize the same methodology with the same flashy changes that the industry has been making?  Or will the traditional tactics of advertising be addressed and acted upon so as to change the consumer-advertiser relationship from one of obnoxious co-existence to cultural acceptance?

About defever

Con-mercialism. Money allows it to happen. Money given to penguin-dressed businesspeople choked so tightly by their neck ties that their brains can focus on nothing more than profit margins and sunday tee time with their gin-breathed client. Creative minds and strategic advertising act as the Batman and Robin to combat the droning and ubiquitous presence of corporate invasion on consumers' media. I am honored to serve on the heroic force that is taking away from the bullying, tormenting, killing you slowly inside form of advertising. This is a blog of my work, my opinions, and my ideas on the world of advertising. I'm not trying to change the game of advertising--I'm trying to change the sport.
